Kim Delaney is an American actress best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won the Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is known as the Detective Diane Russell on ABC's series NYPD Blue. Also, she was a part of the drama series All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of the United Auto Workers senior executive and domestic worker was raised by four siblings. Although she was a child with a goal of becoming journalist, it wasn't until high school that Delaney began to model. When she moved away from New York City and gaining experience with commercials in New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. In her teens her first appearance as an actress came in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Delaney was a talented young actress who was in her 20s, appeared in numerous TV shows and in dramas. Her career as a professional has been much more lucrative than her personal life. She has also experienced two failed marriages, and has struggled with alcoholism. Her custody in 2005 was taken away from her.
